PRESENTATION

Questioning, observing and transmitting the beauty of nature and people

.

Ivy Arnold is an American figurative artist.

From 1982, she studied drawing at the University of South Florida, and from 1983 to 1986, she studied painting at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts. Then, drawn by Europe and its artistic culture, in 1991 she moved to France to perfect her painting techniques at the Ecole Nationale des Beaux-Arts de Paris, where a technique inspired by Van Eyck is taught.  These studies have had a considerable impact on her work.

This new knowledge enables her to master the values of time-honored techniques, making it possible to create a lasting world of beauty. She wishes to preserve and keep alive realism, which remains a universal language of sharing, and thus offers a gateway to wonder, to dream, by recreating the veracity of nature and people in a poetic vision.

She has definitely chosen oil painting, whose possibilities enrich the compositions inspired by her readings and music.  In this way, she can create fantastical scenes where nature and people mingle.

Since 1994, his work has been shown in various Paris galleries (galerie Opéra, galerie Michèle Boulet, galerie Colette Dubois, and Espace 23), and has been awarded medals and prizes at various shows (Artistes Français, Académie de Lutèce, salon de Vittel, Printemps de Neuville, Ecole Internationale de la Loire, Salon de Bourg-la-Reine …..).

His creations can be found in private collections in France, England, Spain, the United States and Singapore.
